''WE ARE PIOUS TO BEAR GOOD FRUIT IN OUR GENERATION''

A total 630 beneficiaries from 14 cluster of child development center from the Tongu Cluster, assisted projects of Compassion International Ghana has shown their readiness to bear fruit that will be good through their generation. This proclamation is made when they converged at Ada College of Education for this year's annual youth camp.

Several activities are lined up for their stay at the camp. They have arrived on the 14th day of August, 2017 for registration and welcome ceremony

On the 15th day (2nd day) of August, at 4:00 am, morning devotion was done in every room of all the participants. After devotion is done, the children were taken through aerobics, just to make them fit and healthy for the glory of God.

The children gathered for morning service immediately after taking their breakfast. The theme of the sermon is "bear good fruit in your generation", and was led by His royal Servant, Emmanuel Amegah, Project Director for Adidome Global Child Development Center and also, the assistant Chairman for the chaplaincy board of the cluster.

In his teaching to the congregant, he said they have to be the pacesetters of bearing good fruit, because of the opportunity that is available for them. He also said, they should avoid doing things that will let people say bad things about them, and must know that bearing good fruit is a mandate for all of them and as such, every tree must bear fruit that will be beneficial to the kingdom of God. He also urge them to bear useful fruit because every tree will be identified by the kind of fruit the bear


immediately, after the morning service, a segment was formed of 14 groups to have a bible study on the topic "what it means to be born again". This topic marvel a lot of the participant and they are off the view that, it will not be possible for any man to be born again. But the facilitators are up to the task and used biblical quotation to support (John 3:1-9, 1st John 5:1) the argument that it is easy for every man to be born   what. After the bible study, a total of 245 were able to able to understand that, it easy to be born again and have given their life to Christ.

After the declaration of their faith in Christ, they were also given the opportunity to have any vocation of their choice to have some practicals. some went to learn needle work, art and craft, bead design and brass band. during this section, interaction was made with one of the camp officials, Simon Dziwornu, the Director of Mafi-Kumase Global Child Development Center, the Chairman of the chaplaincy board, said " it is also good to expose them to so many many things so that when they grow, they can do other thing part from their chosen careers."

''I PREFER TAKING CARE OF CATTLE TO GOING TO SCHOOL''

I prefer taking care of cattle to going to school, i did not see any reasons why i should waste my time going to school.

Akhilu is the is a 9 year old boy in Central Tongu District of Ghana in Volta Region. He is seen at home everyday without doing anything nor going to school. Several people said it the parents that are not performing their parental responsibilities that is why he is always loitering around.

One one Sunday after church, i took the pain to find out form the mother what is the matter that Akhilu is not going to school as the other siblings are doing. Information gathered from the mother on our one-on-one conversation shows that, Akhilu has school bag, uniform and other school supplies.

I was amazed by what she told me and wanted to find out more reason why he is not going to school. '' i enrolled him in the lower primary for the past one year but he said he is not interested in school, and all my efforts to make him go back to school yield no result, said the mother.

I then ask from the mother to call him for me so that i can talk to him myself. He said, my mother and father said i should go to school but i do not want to go to school but rather want to take care of cattle in the bush so that i can have a lot of cattle and get milk and cheese from it. i do not want to go to school because i over head my father saying you cannot even get any job to do after your long year stay school. From that time, i decided to go to the farm instead of school but my mother will not agree.

After our talk i do not know what to say about our education in the country what information is available for children, sister and brothers who refuses to go to school. I want your say and comments
